Last month 63 of our most able mathematicians from year 9 to year 11 took part in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge organised by Leeds University. The Challenge is a one hour exam that stretches pupil’s mathematical skills and is completed nationally with other pupils. Taking part in the competition already indicates that these pupils are excellent mathematicians; and pupils can be additionally awarded with Gold, Silver and Bronze certificates indicating they have done exceptionally well nationally.

This year we have had fantastic results with the most certificates ever achieved by our pupils; 5 gold certificates were awarded, 11 silvers and 18 bronze. In addition 5 of our pupils made it through to the next round which is by invitation only. Congratulations to all pupils who were involved!!
