Olivia, Holly, Elizabeth and Genevieve recently attended WISH FM radio station, where they enjoyed a tour of the premises with DJ Chris Milow and participated in recording a show in the studio. Part of the broadcast included the girls giving a shout out to all the pupils at De La Salle!

This studio experience was won by Olivia when the girls attended the Ride4Violet charity event in the summer. The Ride4Violet-Grace was a really popular event and one that is close to their hearts. Hundreds of cyclists and motorbike riders turned out at St Helens RLFC stadium to commemorate the life of four-year-old Violet-Grace Youens who was tragically killed earlier this year.  The route included Whiston and Alder Hey Hospitals, then returning to the stadium to join a family fun day.

The event was well supported by the local community and arranged by Violet's parents, Rebecca and Glenn, as they wanted to make positive memories in Violet's name. All money raised on the day was split between the two hospitals, Whiston and Alder Hey.   Representatives from organ donation and blood bank charities attended to offer more information on registering to donate.

Glenn and Rebecca have strived to raise awareness of organ donation after choosing to donate their daughter’s kidneys and pancreas, the only organs that were suitable for donation, which went on to save two lives. Violet-Grace will be deeply missed by her family and friends but has come to be remembered by all as a superhero.
