During February Half-Term, 44 of our Y11 students travelled to New York City along with 6 staff.  The trip was linked to their RE Curriculum in so much as there was a visit to the UN Headquarters, a visit to St. Patrick's Cathedral, and some time of thought and prayer spent at Ground Zero.  However, the trip was also an opportunity to develop general life skills, and to gain an understanding of another culture, separate from here in St. Helens.  All students behaved impeccably and we are very proud.

Some other highlights were:

  • Dinner at Hardrock, Bubba Gump Shrimp, and Planet Hollywood
  • Time spent at the Statue of Liberty
  • An open top bus tour
  • Viewing decks of The Empire State Building and Top of the Rock
  • Time at Central Park
  • Shopping at Macy's and Times Square

A particularly huge thank-you to Miss. Blenkenship, Miss. Davies, Miss. Farrelly, Mr. Fletcher, and Mr. Hussey for giving up their half-term to ensure students were safe.  It is no simple task to take 44 teenagers to the USA today!
