Over one hundred Year 10 pupils have now completed the practice expeditions for their Bronze Award. Experienced expedition instructors together with staff from school took groups of pupils out walking over two days during October and November. These pupils now have the necessary skills to undertake their Expedition, which will happen next spring:  navigating using a map, working as a team, staying safe, putting up a tent, carrying a heavy rucksack correctly and cooking using a camping stove.

Thank you to Sue Lindsay leading with this, and to Mrs Clague, Ms Forde, Miss Piert, Miss Johnson and Mr O’Callaghan for supervising pupils.

Pupils are now busy with the other sections of the Bronze Award: Learning a new skill, volunteering for three months and focussing on their health and fitness by taking part in a physical activity.
