Year 8 Work Shadowing Programme

December saw the start of the Careers Work Shadowing programme. This is a fantastic new opportunity given to all students in Year 8. This will continue each Wednesday throughout the year. Students can choose to spend their day working in a range of roles from student services, ICT support, site team, canteen, technology preparation or even with the headteacher. They collect a school lanyard for the day and record their activities in specially created diary. Students gain a great insight into the many varied roles of our staff around school. Whilst ‘on the job’ pupils are developing a range of skills to prepare them for the world of work and future careers– good communication, problem solving, organization, team-working and resilience.
